The FDA approved an innovative three-dimensional digital mammography system in February 2011 that shows measurable improvement in clinical performance over conventional two-dimensional mammography. This new technology, called Breast Tomosynthesis, is expected to detect more cancers while resulting in fewer unnecessary diagnostic imaging studies and procedures. This workshop is only suitable for physicians.
Participants will have the opportunity to sit at clinical workstations and review over 100 clinical Tomosynthesis data sets with accompanying standard mammography while being guided by expert faculty. The course will not only fulfill the FDA training requirement, but will also provide a unique opportunity to assess the potential impact Tomosynthesis could have for a physician’s practice while receiving individual instruction.
